29A – Venture Concept No. 2

29A – Venture Concept No. 2

Opportunity
·       What are the forces or changes in the environment creating this opportunity?

·       How is this market defined geographically and demographically?

·       How are customers currently satisfying this need?  And how loyal are they to whatever they use now?

·       How big is this opportunity?

·       How long will the “window of opportunity” be open?
My name is Uri Goldenberg and I am a computer science student in the University of Florida. I have moved to Florida from Israel 9 months ago and the first thing that I have noticed about this state is its intense heat. During my first day in Florida there was a record high temperature of 90 degrees Fahrenheit. High heat has negative affect on the body far beyond mere perspiration. When temperature rises our body loses its effectiveness and begin to act sluggish and fatigued. The opportunity I have decided to address involves the suffering of people entering their car after it being parked in the sun for a long time. Because of the intense heat that is stored in cars parked in the hot sun, people who enter their cars have to endure high temperatures during the first part of their drive. The heat coupled with driving activity is very dangerous; people who drive in the while suffering from heat tend to be more angry and impatient hence more dangerous. In the world of today the only products that offer a reprieve from the intense heat stored in cars are products such as aluminum windshield accordions. Although people can use those type of devices, they are bulky and difficult to maneuver. Even though most cars worldwide tend to head up during summer time, most people don’t use aluminum windshield accordions. This information point to the fact that this market is unexploited and will continue to be until someone will come up with a simpler product. I propose a novel solution that is easy to install and doesn’t require constant handling.

·       What is the solution

·       Detail

·       How will it make money?
My solution to this problem is a product comprised out of solar panel installed on the roof of the can and connected to a fan will will be placed inside the car. The sollar panel will draw power from the sun during the day and will activate the fan when the engine of the car is turned off. By creating a cool environment for the drivers who enter their parked cars on a hot day, the people who will enter the car will not only be less hot but only less aggravated and therefore safer drivers. The device will not be sold separately from the car but will serve as a future that could be added to new cars for a few more hundred dollars.

Venture Concept
·       What are the reasons to think customers would switch to this new product? How hard will it be to get them to switch?

·       Who are the competitors?  What are their possible weaknesses or vulnerabilities?

·       What role does packaging, your price points, distribution, customer support, the customer experience or the business location play (if any) in defining your business concept?

·       How would you organize a “business” to support the ongoing production of your new product, service, or process? How many employees? What roles are in the venture?
Todays society revolves about comfort and luxury, my product offers just that. Car drivers with a steady job spend a lot of their time in their car. Every year cars aspire to be more luxurious and more comfortable that the year before. In a world where my only competition is an archaic windshield accordions made out of aluminum the competition is very slim. People refuse to use aluminum windshield accordions due to the clumsy design which makes the product difficult to use. I whole suggest selling the product as an appendix to the new car to reduce problems during installation. The main business will involve telemarketing which will introduce the product to all the big car manufacturers companies.

My venture concept did not change from the previous one because none of the feedback I have received was a constructive one. Both feedback told be that my venture concept id great and that they wouldn’t make anything differently.

28A – Your Exit Strategy

28A – Your Exit Strategy

My exit strategy as of now is to keep my company and make it grow. In the future I can see potential in selling my company after I have exploited all of its resources.
I have chosen this specific exit strategy because I think in the short term my idea can benefit me financially but in the long run I would like to move on to different ideas that I would like to introduce to the world.
In my opinion the way that my exit strategy influenced my decision throughout this journey is by me trying to make my idea very presentable. I was and still am trying to make my idea concept in appealing as possible. By creating a company that will talk to most people around the world I will increase my chances of selling my business in the future for the best price I could possibly imagine.

30A – Final Reflection

30A – Final Reflection

My most formative experience for this class was interviewing this many people. I had to learn many new skills for interviewing and small talk. Interviewing so many people would also be the experience I most remember years later, thinking back on my college years. It was the one that helped me become a better speaker. My most joyous experience was making the bug list. It made me realize that I could change things I didn’t want in my life. It gave me a sense of control I had never felt before. The experience I was most proud of accomplishing was coming out of my shell and being able to talk and interview many different people about my opportunity. I do now see myself as an entrepreneur who can utilize the entrepreneurial mindset he’s learned in this class in the real world. To future students taking this course, I would say make sure you’re passionate about your opportunity. To preform better in this course, I would recommend the students to work diligently and keep up with all the deadlines. I would also tell them to just have fun and remember these skills as long as they can.

27A – Reading Reflection No. 3

27A – Reading Reflection No. 3

I read the book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success.
In my opinion the general theme of the book was growth. According to the book success will come to those who have success as their only option even if mistakes are made, learning from these mistakes are what paves the path to success.
The connection to the class is the emphasis both have on personal growth. Both the book and the class put a lot of weight to the idea of learning from one’s mistakes and coming out stronger than before.
The activity that I would suggest for this class based on this book is to let the students write a list containing attributes and skills that this possess. These set of skills will be skill that they excel at but want to perfect even more.
My biggest eureka moment reading this book was realizing that even tho team work is vital for success sometimes being selfish is sometimes crucial.

26A – Celebrating Failure

26A – Celebrating Failure

Ever since I can remember myself, health took a big part of my life. My whole life I trying to keep a health and active lifestyle. The moment I started college I started gaining weight and for the past few months I have been trying to lose some of the extra pounds I have gained. Unfortunately, even with the amount of weekly exercise I have been taking upon myself, the numbers on my scale just kept raising. Moving to America from Israel made me change my diet from one end to another. I was used you eat healthy food that is not as accessible in the land of opportunities. I have trying to change my diet countless times from the beginning of the semester, but nothing seems to work.

This class have made me realize that failiur does not mean impossible. After only a few months taking this class I have been struck with a surge of energy that helps me to keep trying new and better ways to achieve my goals.

25A – What’s Next?

25A – What’s Next?

In my opinion my next venture will be to hire employees to call car manufacturers to rise awareness and at the same time try to create a car prototype that will implement the product.
The people I will interview are people who own cars.
After asking my girlfriend for ideas she said that creating the product on my own will be a great next move.
My brother said that I should create a prototype and register it as a patent before offering it to potential manufacturers.
One of my friend said that by creating a whole new car that integrates the idea into it I will be able to lower the risk of my idea getting stuck in the bureaucracy process.

The people I will interview are people without cars who what to buy one.
My sister said that she you love to buy a car containing a device such as what I have described and that she is willing to pay for the luxury.
My family friend is very wealthy and said that 500$ for getting rid of the heat inconvenience wont take a lot of thought when buying a new car.
