13A – Reading Reflection No. 1

13A – Reading Reflection No. 1

After reading To Be Loved, Berry Gordy, the thing that surprised me the most was that the book did not talk about love in the sense that I expected. It talked about ambitions mostly, which was also the thing I admire most in Berry Gordy. In his book Berry Gordy describe a time of suffering when he was constantly being accused of working with the mafia and taking most of the money of musicians. When got accused, Berry Gordy just kept to his own and try to not give too much attention to people who envied his success.
The entrepreneur did what he loves and surrounded himself with people he loved and loved him back. He was able to be enthusiastic about every part of his business which made him a great success.
I did not understand fully the reason for him to have such a long search for a career.
I would ask him what he thinks led him to be such a great success, and what does he think of the music today.

I think Berry Gordy defines hard work as never giving up just as he never did throughout his career.

12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

Segment: number of cars world wide surpasses 1 billion.
Conclusions from interview # 1:
-          The problem was most noticeable during the afternoon. The car has heated up for the entire afternoon.
-          the person I have interviewed tries to turn on the air conditioning during those excoriating moments but even the air conditioner emits hot air.
-          He did not ever think of the possibility of having a solution so never looked for one.

Conclusions from interview # 2:
-          My girlfriend also said that the problem was most noticeable during the afternoon when the temperature outside is the highest during the day.
-          She said that when you try to get to work and have no time to let your car cool off, there is nothing you can do beside suffer.
-          She said that googling a solution only led her to sunshades which are not a comfortable solution for her.

Conclusions from interview # 2:
-          From my last interview I realized that the problem is the most intest when the temperature outside is at its high peak.
-          He side that when his car heat up the only thing he can do is role down the windows and drive a little faster.
-          He also did not search the problem for a solution on the internet.

According to the information I have collected this segment is almost untapped and is in need of a solution to the problem that effects it.

10A – Elevator Pitch No. 1

11A – Idea Napkin No. 1

11A – Idea Napkin No. 1

My name is Uri Goldenberg and I am a creative computer developer with an army background in leadership and health. I am dedicated to make an impact on people and to make the world a better place through hard and significant work.
The opportunity I have decided to address involves the suffering of people entering their car after it being parked in the sun for a long time. Because of the intense heat that is stored in cars parked in the hot sun, people who enter their cars have to endure high temperatures during the first part of their drive. Products such as aluminum windshield accordions can be used by people suffering from this problem, but they are bulky and difficult to maneuver. I propose a novel solution that is easy to install and doesn’t require constant handling.
My solution to this problem is to install a solar powered fan connected to a solar panel attached to the roof of the car. The fan will be turned on and functioning while the car is parked as long as sun is hitting the solar panel on the car’s roof. By doing so, the car will keep cool without depleting the cars battery.
The device will create safer and more relaxed drivers. Which will result in better driving etiquette between people on the road.

In todays market no one offers an easy to use device that will help elevating the heat inside of parked cars.

9A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

9A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Interview 1: My first interview was my rich uncle from Israel. Even though Israel is a very hot and sunny country, my uncle said that he has no use of my solution. His chuffer stays in the car all times and keeps his car cool.

Interview 2: for my second interview I have approached my fraternity friend who said that he would rather suffer from heat than to spend money that he doesn’t have on his car.

Interview 3: I have interviewed another friend of mine who said that even though he my idea could elevate his heat in his car, he is not interested in such a product. His told me that his car is too cheap for any kind of modification.

Interview 4: my fourth interview was this a high school family’s friend. Just like my my friend I have interviewed during my second interview, he said that he has no money to spend.

Interview 5: for my last interview I have talked to my girlfriend’s grandfather. He said that he does not trust complicated mechanisms. He thinks that my solution will make his life harder and not easier.

Inside the boundary
Outside the boundary
Who is In:
-       Car owners and passengers living in hot and sunny regions of the world.
Who is Not
-       High school students.
-       College students with.
-       Very rich people who have chuffers that can keep the car cool while parked.
What the Need Is:
-       cars to be cool when people entering them after being parked in the sun.
What the Need Is Not
-       cars to be cool when people entering them after being parked in the sun.
Why the Need Exists:
-       cars heat up very easily while parked in the sun which causes suffering to everyone who enters.
Alternative Explanations:
-       not cheap enough.
-       people staying in the car and keeping it cool.
-       People don’t want to spend money on cheap cars

7A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

7A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

Opportunity: Cars these days tend to reach very high temperatures when parked outside when the blazing sun is out. The heat that is trapped in the car causes the people who enter it to suffer from heat until the car cools off.

The who: the people who drive cars.
The what: they suffer from the heat that is trapped in the car until their car cools off.
The why: cars parked in the sun heat up very quickly to very high temperatures.

testing the who: who are the people that drive car during the day the most? is it the older generation the younger generation or people with a specific job?

testing the what: do these people actually suffer from the heat or do they actually like it? maybe some people like having intense heat in their cars when going inside them.

testing the why: is the heat really caused from the sun or is it just the temperature? can a car get really hot during the night time as well?

Hypothesis: I predict that since almost all people own or have been in a car, this problem of overheating effects everyone.

Interview 1: The first person I had interviewed was my girlfriend. She made it clear that hot cars are definitely an issue in the summer time.  From my interview with her she made it clear that most people who own cars suffer from the same problem.

Interview 2: My second prototypical costumer, my brother, explained to me that even thought this problem does effect almost everyone, some people suffer more than others. For example, the cars that are parked in Florida during the summer would heat much faster than the ones in Alaska.

Interview 3: My third a prototypical costumer, my dad. My dad was very similar to my girlfriends in his thought. Living in Israel he still think it is a problem. I then realized that this opportunity is a global one.

Interview 4: Fourth person I have interviewed was my roommate. He said that even people who don’t own cars suffer from the same problem. He thinks that a solution will help even more people than I think.

Interview 5: The last person I’ve interviewed was my girlfriend grandma. She loves her sunshade and doesn’t think that hot cars are a problem, this interview let me to realize that maybe the older generation is more accustomed to hot cars.

My interviews made me realize several things. I first realized that some places around the world need a solution more than others. Secondly I realized that even though they are effected, the older generation might be less willing to change the inconvenient solution they already have.

6A – Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

6A – Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

economic trends opportunity
-        US interest rates on the rise
Leads to belief: I believe that due to inflation, people with low income will not be able to support themselves or their families.
Customer: The lower-middle class and are poor.
Difficulty: I think that this will be hard to exploit since changing the economy is something an individual can rarely do alone.
Reason for formation: I formed this belief because I have constant fear of not being able to afford the lifestyle I desire.

-        Health care remains healthy
Leads to belief: I believe that because the baby boomers generation is getting older more people will need more medications and health treatments, it is possible to take advantage of that.
Costumer: both the people who need treatments and the hospitals themselves who will be busier.
Difficulty: I think that this will be hard to exploit since the medical industry is very competitive.
Reason for formation: I formed this belief because I used to be treated for my asthma constantly as a child and I know that there is a lot of money involved.

regulatory changes opportunity

-        Rolling back regulations
Leads to belief: I believe that because Donald trump is not paying attention to the health and sciences the earth and its inhabitants both suffer.
Customers: the people who suffer most from this are all of earths population.
Difficulty: I think that although changing the president’s opinion is not an easy feat, with enough protesting and work a change can be done.
Reason for formation: I formed this belief because I’m an avid admirer of mother nature.

-        Net neutrality deregulation
Leads to belief: because people might be forced to switch to different service providers base on where they live.
Costumer: people using any service based device.
Difficulty: I think that it is very difficult because finding a loophole in a bill is something that takes a lot of effort.

Reasons for formation: I think that a lot of people realized that there might be a problem that can be exploited but many gave up because of its difficulty.
