25A – What’s Next?

25A – What’s Next?

In my opinion my next venture will be to hire employees to call car manufacturers to rise awareness and at the same time try to create a car prototype that will implement the product.
The people I will interview are people who own cars.
After asking my girlfriend for ideas she said that creating the product on my own will be a great next move.
My brother said that I should create a prototype and register it as a patent before offering it to potential manufacturers.
One of my friend said that by creating a whole new car that integrates the idea into it I will be able to lower the risk of my idea getting stuck in the bureaucracy process.

The people I will interview are people without cars who what to buy one.
My sister said that she you love to buy a car containing a device such as what I have described and that she is willing to pay for the luxury.
My family friend is very wealthy and said that 500$ for getting rid of the heat inconvenience wont take a lot of thought when buying a new car.

Opportunity
·       What are the forces or changes in the environment creating this opportunity?

·       How is this market defined geographically and demographically?

·       How are customers currently satisfying this need?  And how loyal are they to whatever they use now?

·       How big is this opportunity?

·       How long will the “window of opportunity” be open?
My name is Uri Goldenberg and I am a computer science student in the University of Florida. I have moved to Florida from Israel 9 months ago and the first thing that I have noticed about this state is its intense heat. During my first day in Florida there was a record high temperature of 90 degrees Fahrenheit. High heat has negative affect on the body far beyond mere perspiration. When temperature rises our body loses its effectiveness and begin to act sluggish and fatigued. The opportunity I have decided to address involves the suffering of people entering their car after it being parked in the sun for a long time. Because of the intense heat that is stored in cars parked in the hot sun, people who enter their cars have to endure high temperatures during the first part of their drive. The heat coupled with driving activity is very dangerous; people who drive in the while suffering from heat tend to be more angry and impatient hence more dangerous. In the world of today the only products that offer a reprieve from the intense heat stored in cars are products such as aluminum windshield accordions. Although people can use those type of devices, they are bulky and difficult to maneuver. Even though most cars worldwide tend to head up during summer time, most people don’t use aluminum windshield accordions. This information point to the fact that this market is unexploited and will continue to be until someone will come up with a simpler product. I propose a novel solution that is easy to install and doesn’t require constant handling.

Innovation
·       What is the solution

·       Detail

·       How will it make money?
My solution to this problem is a product comprised out of solar panel installed on the roof of the can and connected to a fan will will be placed inside the car. The sollar panel will draw power from the sun during the day and will activate the fan when the engine of the car is turned off. By creating a cool environment for the drivers who enter their parked cars on a hot day, the people who will enter the car will not only be less hot but only less aggravated and therefore safer drivers. The device will not be sold separately from the car but will serve as a future that could be added to new cars for a few more hundred dollars.

Venture Concept
·       What are the reasons to think customers would switch to this new product?  How hard will it be to get them to switch?

·       Who are the competitors?  What are their possible weaknesses or vulnerabilities?

·       What role does packaging, your price points, distribution, customer support, the customer experience or the business location play (if any) in defining your business concept?

·       How would you organize a “business” to support the ongoing production of your new product, service, or process? How many employees? What roles are in the venture?
Todays society revolves about comfort and luxury, my product offers just that. Car drivers with a steady job spend a lot of their time in their car. Every year cars aspire to be more luxurious and more comfortable that the year before. In a world where my only competition is an archaic windshield accordions made out of aluminum the competition is very slim. People refuse to use aluminum windshield accordions due to the clumsy design which makes the product difficult to use. I whole suggest selling the product as an appendix to the new car to reduce problems during installation. The main business will involve telemarketing which will introduce the product to all the big car manufacturers companies.

22A – Elevator Pitch No. 3

22A – Elevator Pitch No. 3

Based on the feedback I received I decided to try and replicate my original pitch but shorten it a little.

23A – Your Venture’s Unfair Advantage

23A – Your Venture’s Unfair Advantage

-        My age.
Time is the most valuable thing in this world. By having a plan for a business early in life I can increase my chances of success. Other people can’t change their age and therefore can’t be younger od older than they are at that specific time. Time is the most significant factor and with time comes improvement.
-        Computer programming.
Every passing day the world we live in becomes more computer reliant. By preparing myself to the world of tomorrow I increase my chances of success. This set of skills is not something everyone possesses and will take time and dedication for people to acquire.
-        Social skills.
I am a very social person which helps me get assistance from others when needed. This is a skill that is wither innate or very hard to perfect and can be utilized to many situations.
-        bilingual.
I am proficient in both Hebrew and English allowing me to connect to more people on a more fundamental level. I have a 20 years’ experience speaking both languages which makes it very hard for other people to have my bilingual abilities.
-        military leadership experience.
After serving in the army as a medic and commanding over a group of people I have acquired leadership skills that I will use for the rest of my life. Most people did not have the opportunity to do what I did which made me into the person that I am today.
-        valuing persistence.
I have a diagnosed ADHD. My disorder held me back and demanded me to work harder than most people in order to get to the place I am today. Me experiences with perseverance made me appreciate hard work.
-        determination.
While most people in college are in it for the unforgettable experience, I see this time as an opportunity to create something great. This type of mindset might relate to the fact that I have served in the army before college.
-        family.
My family will always support in my endeavors. They are willing to help me every step on the way to success. Having such a big support from your family gives you the ability to think freely and become the person you want to be.

In my opinion my most valuable skillset is being social. It will allow me to create a better business in the future.

21A - Reading Reflection No. 2

1) What was the general theme or argument of the book?
The general theme of “The Art of Social Media: Power Tips for Power Users by Guy Kawasaki”, in my opinion, is business promotion based on the use of social media.

2. I think that this book relates to what we are learning in ENT3003 by showing us how to utilize the tools that are most familiar to us, like social media, in order to create a business opportunity that can result is a successful business. The connection can also be noticed by the distinct focus on networking in general which we speak of in class.

3. The exercise I would choose you be for each student to create a Facebook page to advertise his/her business.

4. Even though I like to use social media, I don’t use Twitter, which apparently can be used as a tool to either make or break a business.

20A – Growing Your Social Capital

20A – Growing Your Social Capital

Interview 1:
My girlfriend’s father used to be an electrical engineer. he will fill the slot of my domain expert. After telling my girlfriend about my assignment she advised me to speak to her father. My girlfriend’s father said that a device such as mine sounds very interesting and that he will try to find out if there is a way to create it.

Interview 2:
My brother’s partner is an expert in marketing just like my brother. He will fill the slot of my market expert. I knew that my brother partner is in marketing like my brother. My brother’s partner said that my idea sounds interesting and after my idea will gain more substance he would take a second look into it.

Interview 3:
I have decided to interview my second cousin, who I have never talked before. He is a car distributor. I was able to reach this person after asking my mom if she knows anyone who deals with cars. My second cousin said that he is very busy but if I want to meet up and talk about my idea he could explain to me the whole car market.

This “networking experience was different than the rest because for the first my I interviewed people who I never met before. Such an experience allowed me to better reflect on my idea.

19A – Idea Napkin No. 2

My name is Uri Goldenberg and I am a creative computer developer with an army background in leadership and health. I am dedicated to make an impact on people and to make the world a better place through hard and significant work.
I offer a device that is comprised of a fan connected to a solar panel attached to the roof of the car. The fan will be turned on when the car is parked while the sun is hitting the solar panel on the car’s roof. By doing so, the car will keep cool without depleting the cars battery.
The device is created to help every person who enter his/her car and must suffer through the high temperatures during the first part of their drive.
My costumers would take an interest in my device because it will create a safer driving environment. The device will create more relaxed drivers. Which will result in better driving etiquette between people on the road.
My competition is aluminum windshield accordions. That device can also be used by people suffering from the hot temperatures in parked cars, but they are bulky and difficult to handle. I propose a novel solution that is easy to install and doesn’t require constant handling.
In today’s market no one offers an easy to use device that will help elevating the heat inside of parked cars.in my mind the only problem that my business might have is that the product will be more expensive than aluminum windshield accordions.

17A – Elevator Pitch No. 2

I have decided to shorten my pitch after reading that most of my peers have pointed out that my pitch was too long.

18A – Create a Customer Avatar

18A – Create a Customer Avatar

My customer avatar in nick, a 38-year-old man. Nick lives in Aventura Florida with his wife Nicole and his two children, Maya and Arik. Nick is a very diligent real-estate agent who wakes up in the morning every day during the week at 9:00am and drives to work is his silver Toyota. His hobbies are drawing surfing hiking, camping, going to the movies, and eating out with his family. Nick has a young soul which can reflect on his T.V. series preferences, which are mostly cartoons especially Disney movies.
The only similarities between my and my customer avatar, nick, are that we have almost the exact same hobbies. On some level I think this is not simply a matter of coincidence. In my opinion I have subconsciously created a customer avatar with the same hobbies as mine because I want to solve problems of people like me.

16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?

16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?

I am a creative computer developer with an army background in leadership and health. I am dedicated to make an impact on people through hard and significant work.

Interview 1:
After asking my mom what she thinks is my human capital, she pointed out that in her opinion all my qualities are what makes me the best. She said that what she thinks will help me most in life is my communication skills.
Interview 2:
My father told me that thought his life experience he have learned that the most successful people in life are thought who can become friend with everyone. He said that my social abilities is my human capital.
Interview 3:
My girlfriend said that she might be biased but in her she thinks that looks is very helpful when is comes to success. She pointed out that my good looks will assist me in pursuing my future business goals.
Interview 4:
My brother said that in her opinion me knowing Hebrew will be very beneficial. He explained that by knowing two languages I will be able to do business with more types of people.
Interview 5:
For my last interview I have asked my sister what she thinks is my human capital. She said that my artistic abilities are what will differentiate me from the rest of the people and by paying a lot of attention to details, I will increase me business’s chances to succeed.

Asking the people who are closest to me about the qualities that can make me successful was a very awkward situation. All the compliments and attributes that have been assigned to me felt somewhat fake on some level. I felt that by asking people who love me I could never receive an honest answer and that why I would stick to my list in part 1.

15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Interview 1:
For my first interview, I interviewed my grandpa. He stated that he thought his solution to the heat that is emitted from his car is a sun shade, but it was too complicated for him to handle and at his age maybe even dangerous. The findings from the interview were that a simpler more “age friendly” solution was required. My grandfather had picked a large accordion sun shade as his alternative, but found it bulky and heavy to handle at his age. It was tough for him to constantly open and reclose his shade every time he parked his car, even for a short while. After a few uses, he decided he could not handle the sunshade daily anymore. From this interview, I concluded that there is a large need for a better and, easier solution, especially for an older crowd, and my solution seems to be the most convenient. My grandpa also said he would be more comfortable purchasing anything in person in order to make sure the product he is buying is reliable. This interview illustrates the need for a more easy to handle product for an older community of people who need both convenience and effectiveness.

Interview 2:
For my second interview, I talked to my friend, a graduate student at the University of Florida. He stated that even though he needed a solution, he would most likely not be able to afford one. He told me he was worried that any solutions would either be too expensive or too cumbersome He never bought an alternative because he didn’t find spending the money to be necessary, even though a hot car was something he deals with often. My friend told me that if he was to purchase something, he would most likely buy it online and he would look for something less bulky than an accordion car shade. This showed me that if my product is not too expensive, many people would opt to purchase it instead of the cumbersome car shade. This interview illustrates the need for a more affordable yet still effective was to cool a hot car down.

Interview 3:
The last person I interviewed was my girlfriend’s brother, a high school student just finishing up 11th grade. He just got his car and said that a sunshade would look too bulky and ugly to put up. He said he would be willing to purchase a product online that does the same job as the sunshade as long as it wasn’t visibly bulky. As of now, he had no alternative ideas but he’s willing to investigate some more convenient products. I think if my product was on the market, he would be a perspective buyer. As long as the purchase doesn’t make him seem “unpopular”, he would be willing to buy it for the right price. This interview illustrates the need for a

14A – Halfway Reflection

14A – Halfway Reflection

Four months after taking the ENT3003 and I’ve never regretted taking this class. From the first moment I stepped into the classroom, I started viewing the world in a different way. It started by understanding the different qualities of an entrepreneur to actually starting my own project to instill those same qualities in me. The concept of a class that is both recorded and online oriented that students can also got to lectures is very helping me. The fact that ENT3003 is so flexible helps me work around my hectic schedule. With every moment of me watching the lectures, whether online or not, is a teaching moment. The values that have learned and implements in this class will help me throughout my life and I recommend everyone to have the same experience. Overall, I would not change a thing one it comes to the ways that the class is taught and operates.
