21A - Reading Reflection No. 2


1) What was the general theme or argument of the book?
The general theme of “The Art of Social Media: Power Tips for Power Users by Guy Kawasaki”, in my opinion, is business promotion based on the use of social media.

2. I think that this book relates to what we are learning in ENT3003 by showing us how to utilize the tools that are most familiar to us, like social media, in order to create a business opportunity that can result is a successful business. The connection can also be noticed by the distinct focus on networking in general which we speak of in class.

3. The exercise I would choose you be for each student to create a Facebook page to advertise his/her business.

4. Even though I like to use social media, I don’t use Twitter, which apparently can be used as a tool to either make or break a business.

  1. A Facebook to advertise businesses is always a great idea! When I had my high school band we used facebook and twitter to primarily connect with people, posting images and relatable content (although rarely ever releasing music). Twitter is especially helpful in business marketing and interacting with customers, as many people see tweets and they are easily shared with other people, perhaps moreso than Facebook! Very good idea

  2. Hey Uri, while I did not read the social media book, I think it may be something that would be worthwhile to read based on your description. Using Facebook for businesses is a great idea and I would say is the most economical of all options. Social media is becoming the backbone of advertising and having a business presence on social media is becoming ever more important.
