12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

Segment: number of cars world wide surpasses 1 billion.
Conclusions from interview # 1:
-          The problem was most noticeable during the afternoon. The car has heated up for the entire afternoon.
-          the person I have interviewed tries to turn on the air conditioning during those excoriating moments but even the air conditioner emits hot air.
-          He did not ever think of the possibility of having a solution so never looked for one.

Conclusions from interview # 2:
-          My girlfriend also said that the problem was most noticeable during the afternoon when the temperature outside is the highest during the day.
-          She said that when you try to get to work and have no time to let your car cool off, there is nothing you can do beside suffer.
-          She said that googling a solution only led her to sunshades which are not a comfortable solution for her.

Conclusions from interview # 2:
-          From my last interview I realized that the problem is the most intest when the temperature outside is at its high peak.
-          He side that when his car heat up the only thing he can do is role down the windows and drive a little faster.
-          He also did not search the problem for a solution on the internet.

According to the information I have collected this segment is almost untapped and is in need of a solution to the problem that effects it.

  1. Overpopulation on this planet is definitely a rather large problem. With human overpopulation will come the overpopulation of vehicles and the crowding of our streets. People love driving around, as it is easy and gets you quickly and personally from point A to point B (and on weekends, to point C!). A solution is needed More people in cities are using public transportation and walking, which is helpful

  2. Hi Uri,
I actually have the same problem, especially during the spring and summer. I haven’t done much about it either but it is very inconvenient. People haven’t looked for a solution because they either can’t imagine it or they have their own makeshift solution, such as opening the car doors and wait a while until it cools down. That is very inconvenient to do. I agree with you that getting into a parked car in the hot sun could be made easier. I think that the most significant challenges with this idea would be to communicate to people that there is a solution and figuring out with engineers how to make the product work. If those two targets are met, then I think that this could be a successful product. Good work!

  3. Hey Uri, I always find myself in an excruciatingly hot car during the summer and especially living in South Florida. I always tend to just wait until the air gets cold, but the burning air just makes it unbearable. I haven’t really tried the sunshade method, but I think a battery powered fan or air cooler would be a really good thing.
